David Schweitzer, a
Milwaukee native, was born in 1958. He spent his childhood
drawing and painting and when it came time to choose a
career, it was a no-brainer. He attended the Milwaukee
Institute of Art and Design and graduated in 1980 with a
bachelors degree in Illustration.
The next six years were spent working for advertising art
studios in Milwaukee, Chicago, and Waterloo, Iowa learning
the illustration business. In 1986 Dave returned to the
Milwaukee area, started his own business and is currently
represented worldwide by artist representatives in Chicago and
Los Angeles.
Aviation has also been an area of great interest to Dave
since childhood. During his two year stint in Iowa, and with
little else to do, he decided it was a perfect time to learn
to fly and received his pilots license. In 1990 Dave
combined his interests in art and aviation by joining the
U.S. Air Force Art Program. As a member he travels the globe
with the Air Force as an observer and documents his
impressions on canvas. These oil paintings are then donated
to the Air Force art collection at a bi-annual event in
Washington DC.
Dave currently lives in Racine, Wisconsin on Lake Michigan. |
